For nearly a year now the small village stores shop in Wyke Village have been boarded up, closed due to the inadequate business sense of the previous owners who managed to take a popular and busy village shop and run it down to the point when it couldn’t cover it’s bills.
There’s good news on the horizon, one of my friends, Rob, has been in negotiations with the bank that closed on the previous couple and it looks as if he will be the new owner within a few short weeks now. Thinigs are progressing at a pace, my web company, eJurassic, have designed a logo for him and are about to put a website together for him too.
Last week we spent the day together driving around Dorset looking at other, similar, ventures and it was quite an eye openner, there are people out there doing village stores very well and others not so well. The idea of the day was to take a few ideas from each and help with the set up and planning of his new place.
I have already put a post on fb about a potential re-openning and the local response was excellent, when it comes off I hope it’s a great success for him and his family, one thing I know is that he’s going to be awfully busy for quite a few years to come. Wish him luck.
